Automated document transfer to DATEV Unternehmen Online and Rechnungswesen. Rule-based account assignment, GoBD-compliant archiving and international tax handling.

Dynamics 365 Integration

REST/OData connectivity to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Cloud and on-premises variants, custom API development in AL and webhook-based event integration.

API Development

Design and implementation of REST and GraphQL APIs with OAuth 2.0, rate limiting, versioning and OpenAPI documentation for seamless data flows.

Middleware and ESB

Central orchestration layers with RabbitMQ, Redis Streams and event-driven architecture. Hub-and-spoke topologies for complex system landscapes.

Compliance and Security

GDPR-compliant data flows, GoBD archiving, encrypted transmission and role-based access control for all interfaces.

Typical project scenarios

Integration projects can be categorized into recurring scenarios, each requiring its own challenges and solution approaches. The following scenarios are the ones we encounter most frequently and illustrate the breadth of our work.

Scenario 1: First-time ERP connection to the online shop

The most common scenario: a company operates an online shop and an ERP system in parallel, but data is transferred manually between both systems. Product changes in the ERP are exported via CSV and imported into the shop. Orders from the shop are manually entered in the ERP. Price changes take days instead of seconds. The solution: bidirectional real-time synchronization that automatically exchanges product master data, prices, stock and orders between ERP and shop. Typical project duration: eight to twelve weeks for core integration, with phased expansion in the following months.

Scenario 2: Replacing manual DATEV accounting processes

Many e-commerce companies create their invoices in the shop or ERP and hand them over to the tax advisor manually. With growing order volume, this process becomes a bottleneck: assigning accounts to hundreds of invoices per month and entering them in DATEV consumes significant staff capacity and is error-prone. The solution: an automated DATEV interface that assigns accounts to invoices, credit notes and payment receipts rule-based and transfers them to DATEV Unternehmen Online. Typical payback period: under six months with over 200 documents per month (project experience).

Scenario 3: Multi-system integration with middleware

Growing companies frequently develop a system landscape with five or more systems: shop, ERP, PIM, CRM and accounting. Without central orchestration, point-to-point connections emerge that are difficult to maintain and extend. The solution: a middleware architecture that orchestrates all data flows as a central hub. Each system communicates only with the middleware, which drastically reduces overall complexity and simplifies adding new systems.

Scenario 4: ERP migration with running shop

Switching the ERP system while the shop continues operating is one of the most demanding integration scenarios. During the transition phase, both ERP systems must run in parallel, data must be kept consistent, and the cutover to the new system must be executed with minimal operational disruption. Our middleware architecture greatly facilitates this scenario: the shop adapter remains unchanged, only the ERP connector is replaced. Parallel operation can be controlled through routing in the middleware.

Our project methodology

Integration projects require particularly careful methodology because they work at the intersection of multiple systems, teams and responsibilities. Our methodology has proven effective in over 50+ projects and ensures that technical complexity remains manageable, risks are identified early and the result meets business requirements.

Quality characteristics of our project work

Comprehensive Documentation

Every project delivers complete interface documentation: API specifications, mapping matrices, architecture diagrams and operations handbooks. No undocumented code, no implicit dependencies.

Automated Testing

Unit tests, integration tests and contract tests secure every interface. Regression tests prevent changes from affecting existing functionality. Load tests validate performance.

Monitoring from Day One

Every interface is equipped with monitoring from the start. Dashboards, alerts and detailed logs enable proactive error detection and fast problem analysis.

We are convinced that the quality of project work shows in the first twelve months after go-live, not on handover day. That is why we place particular emphasis on maintainability, extensibility and comprehensive documentation. If you would like to learn more about our approach or discuss specific project results, get in touch. We are happy to present relevant references in a personal meeting.

What our clients value about the collaboration

The contract renewal rate of 97 percent is the clearest signal that our project work convinces. But numbers alone do not tell the whole story. In personal conversations, we regularly hear which aspects of our work make the biggest difference. First, the depth of system knowledge: we know the specifics of SAP interfaces, Dynamics APIs and DATEV formats from daily project practice, not from documentation. Second, the quality of error handling: our middleware solutions are designed for production, not for demos. Third, the long-term perspective: we build architectures that grow with the business instead of short-term fixes that become problems in six months.

Particularly valued is our proactive communication: weekly status updates, shared project boards and transparent documentation of risks and decisions. When a technical problem occurs, we communicate it immediately with analysis and solution proposals rather than sweeping it under the rug. This attitude builds the trust that forms the foundation for the long-term partnerships with our clients.

Continuous education and technology monitoring

The ERP and e-commerce landscape evolves continuously. SAP releases new Service Layer versions, Microsoft updates Dynamics APIs and new integration standards emerge. We regularly invest in our team's education and systematically evaluate new technologies before deploying them in client projects. This continuous technology monitoring ensures our clients benefit from current best practices without bearing the risk of adopting early-stage technologies.

At the same time, we monitor regulatory developments affecting our clients' integration projects: GoBD adjustments, GDPR refinements, e-invoicing mandates and international tax reforms. When a regulatory change requires adaptations to existing interfaces, we proactively inform our operations clients and create an action plan. This keeps you on the safe side without having to track every development yourself.

Long-Term Support and System Evolution

An integration is not a completed project but a permanent connection between systems that evolve independently. ERP updates, shop updates, new API versions and changed business processes require regular adjustments. Our maintenance contracts include proactive monitoring of all synchronization processes, timely adaptation to API changes in both systems and quarterly reviews of data quality, performance and error rates. Through automated contract tests, we detect breaking changes early and can react before production updates. This long-term support is why 97 percent (project experience) of our clients renew their contracts.

Evolution goes beyond pure maintenance: when new business processes need digitization, new data flows are required or the system landscape is expanded, we are ready as technical partner. Our deep knowledge of your existing integration enables efficient and consistent implementation of extensions without destabilizing the existing architecture. Every extension is documented, tested and integrated into existing monitoring.

Quality Characteristics of Our Integration Work

Three aspects distinguish our project work from generic integration providers: first, the depth of our platform-specific expertise in Shopware CE and leading ERP systems (SAP, Dynamics, DATEV). We know not only the APIs but also the data models, business logic and typical pitfalls of these systems. Second, the structured, documented project approach with staging tests, automated regression tests and complete documentation. Third, the long-term perspective: we build integrations not as one-time projects but as maintainable, extensible architectures that grow with your business. In quarterly reviews, we analyze data quality, performance and error rates and proactively identify improvement potential.

Collaboration and Project Coordination

Integration projects typically involve multiple teams and systems. Coordination between shop development, ERP consulting, hosting and internal IT teams is a critical success factor. In our projects, we take on technical coordination of the integration side: we define interfaces, align data formats, coordinate testing phases and ensure all participants have the same information level. Two-week sprints with defined deliverables create transparency and enable early corrections when requirements change or technical obstacles arise.

Technological Breadth of Our Integration Competence

Our integration competence spans the entire technology stack of modern e-commerce architectures. On the shop side, Shopware Community Edition is our core expertise: we know the API architecture, event system mechanisms and plugin development in detail. On the ERP side, we master integration with SAP Business One and S/4HANA, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, DATEV and various industry-specific ERP systems. For the connection layer, we rely on proven technologies: REST APIs, message queues (RabbitMQ, Redis Streams), webhook-based event systems and where needed dedicated middleware layers. This technological breadth enables us to choose the optimal architecture for every integration scenario rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all solution onto all requirements.

Particularly important to us is integration testability. Every interface is secured by automated tests: unit tests for transformation logic, integration tests for interplay with connected systems, contract tests for API compatibility and load tests for validation under production conditions. This test coverage gives you the assurance that updates to individual systems will not break the integration and that data integrity is guaranteed under all operating conditions.

Our Project Approach in Detail

Every integration project follows a structured process that minimizes project risk and delivers transparent results. It begins with a requirements analysis in workshop format where we work through data flows, business rules and error scenarios together with all stakeholders. The resulting specification bindingly defines scope, architecture and test criteria. Implementation proceeds in two-week sprints with working intermediate results on the staging environment. Integration and load tests under realistic conditions validate the solution before go-live. A hypercare phase with heightened monitoring and fast response capability secures the first weeks in production operations.

This structured process is why our integration projects are completed on time and on budget. No surprises, no hidden costs and no technical debt that comes back to haunt you after go-live. If you are looking for an integration partner who works methodically and thinks long-term, talk to us about your project.
