Each service in detail
Our six core services interlock: ERP integration defines the data flows, API development ensures technical communication, middleware orchestrates the processes, data mapping bridges the different data models, the DATEV connector closes the financial cycle, and ongoing operations keep everything running. Below we describe each area in detail.
ERP Integration: The backbone of your shop connectivity
ERP integration is the most business-critical interface in most projects. Product master data, customer-specific prices, stock levels and orders need to flow bidirectionally between inventory management and shop, reliably, performantly and at defined intervals or in real time. We support the most common mid-market ERP systems: SAP Business One and S/4HANA via OData services and RFC/BAPI interfaces, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central via REST APIs and web services, as well as industry-specific ERP systems via custom connectors.
We proceed methodically: first, we jointly define the data ownership for each entity type. Which system is authoritative for product master data? Where do customer prices originate? Where are orders validated and approved? Based on these definitions, we specify the data flows, synchronization directions and transformation rules. Only then does implementation begin, typically on a staging environment with real test data.
DATEV Integration: From order to accounting entry
DATEV integration closes the financial cycle of your online commerce. Invoices, credit notes, payment receipts and cancellations are automatically transferred from the shop or ERP to DATEV Unternehmen Online. Account assignment is rule-based: revenue accounts, tax codes and cost centers are automatically assigned based on product groups, customer types and tax zones. Your accountant receives clean bookings that can be imported without rework.
Especially in e-commerce with international customers, the correct assignment of tax rates is a challenge. Intra-community deliveries, third-country transactions, consignment goods and reverse-charge scenarios require precise tax logic implemented in the integration layer. We ensure that account assignment complies with GoBD requirements even for complex business cases.
API Development: Interfaces tailored to your needs
Not every system provides the API your project needs. Our API development closes this gap. We design and implement REST APIs for standardized CRUD operations and GraphQL APIs for flexible, demand-driven data queries. Every API is secured with OAuth 2.0 or API key authentication, protected against overload through rate limiting, and documented with an OpenAPI specification that provides development teams on both sides a clear implementation foundation.
In API design, we pay particular attention to future-proofing. Versioning enables parallel operation of old and new interface versions during migration. Pagination and cursor-based queries ensure performance even with large datasets. Webhooks enable push-based notifications that eliminate polling queries and significantly reduce latency.
Middleware: The invisible conductor of your data flows
In complex system landscapes with three or more connected systems, a dedicated middleware layer is indispensable. It serves as a central hub that routes messages between systems, transforms data formats and handles errors. Our middleware solutions are based on message queue systems like RabbitMQ that natively support asynchronous processing, persistence and load distribution.
A key advantage of middleware architecture: the connected systems do not need to communicate directly with each other. When the ERP updates a product, it publishes a message to the queue. The middleware transforms the data into the target format and distributes it to shop, PIM and warehouse management. If a target system is temporarily down, messages are held in the queue and automatically delivered after recovery. Dead-letter queues catch messages that could not be delivered after multiple attempts, enabling manual analysis and reprocessing.
Data Mapping: Bridge between different data models
Every system has its own data model. A product in the ERP has different attributes than a product in the shop. Customer address tables follow different schemas in every system. Units of measure, currency codes and tax classifications use different formats and keys. Data mapping bridges these differences systematically: for each data flow, we define a mapping matrix documenting source fields, target fields and transformation rules.
Transformation rules range from simple field assignments through value translations to complex business logic. An example: pricing in the ERP uses gross-net logic with line-level discounts, while the shop expects a final price per product. The transformation must calculate discounts, volume tiers and taxes, then deliver the result in the target format. We document such transformations in detail, test them with edge cases and equip them with automated regression tests.
How our services interlock
An integration project is not a linear process. In practice, our teams work in parallel: while the ERP specialists analyze the data structures in the source system, the API team is already defining the endpoints. The mapping team documents the transformation rules, and the middleware team configures the message queues. This parallel working approach significantly shortens project duration and ensures all components are aligned from the start.
Regular sprint reviews with all stakeholders ensure that dependencies are identified and resolved early. The result is an integration architecture where APIs, middleware, data mapping and monitoring work seamlessly together. And after go-live, our operations team ensures everything continues running stably with defined SLAs.

Why specialized integration expertise makes the difference
Many shop agencies offer integration work as an add-on service. We have made it our core business. The difference shows in the depth of analysis, the robustness of architecture and the quality of ongoing operations. We know the quirks of common ERP systems firsthand: the specifics of the SAP RFC interface, the limitations of Dynamics OData endpoints, the format requirements of the DATEV interface specification. This detailed knowledge makes the difference between an interface that works in testing and one that works reliably under production load with real data volumes and edge cases.
Our experience from over 50+ integration projects means we know typical pitfalls and avoid them from project start. We know which data types can cause problems when transforming between SAP and Shopware. We know the performance bottlenecks when synchronizing large price lists. And we have proven monitoring strategies that detect problems before they become business-relevant. Contact us for a non-binding initial assessment of your integration project.
Security and compliance in every data flow
Integration data frequently contains sensitive business information: customer-specific prices, order volumes, payment information and personal data. Protecting this data is our highest priority. All data transfers are encrypted via TLS. API access is authenticated via OAuth 2.0 and protected by rate limiting. IP whitelisting restricts access to defined servers. And all transactions are logged for audit purposes, so you can trace which data was transferred between which systems at any time.
For DATEV integration, we fully meet GoBD requirements: immutability of transferred documents, complete traceability of all processing steps and completeness of the document chain from order to payment. The procedural documentation describing how data travels from shop to accounting is a standard component of every DATEV integration project and mandatory for tax audits.
Long-term operations: Your integration in experienced hands
An integration project does not end with go-live. ERP updates, new shop versions and changing business requirements demand continuous maintenance of interfaces. Our operations packages include real-time monitoring of all data flows with configurable alerts and escalation chains, regular health checks of interfaces and their performance, compatibility checks before system updates with proactive adaptation, quarterly optimization reviews to identify improvement potential, and extension with additional data flows or systems.
With a contract renewal rate of 97 percent, it is clear that our clients value this long-term support. We see ourselves not as a service provider that sets up an interface and moves on, but as a long-term technology partner that maintains and evolves your integration architecture over the years. Why a specialized integration agency makes the difference
Most shop agencies offer integration work as a side activity. We have made it our core business. The difference shows in the depth of system knowledge, the quality of error handling and the sustainability of the architecture. We know the specifics of the SAP RFC interface, the limitations of Dynamics OData endpoints and the format requirements of the DATEV interface specification from years of project work. This detailed knowledge makes the difference between an interface that works in testing and one that works reliably in production with real data volumes and unexpected edge cases.
The project workflow: From analysis to ongoing operations
Integration projects require particularly careful methodology because they work at the intersection of multiple systems, teams and responsibilities. Our proven project workflow ensures that technical complexity remains manageable, risks are identified early and the result meets business requirements. Every project begins with a thorough system analysis where we capture the existing system landscape, data flows and pain points in detail. This produces an integration blueprint with all interfaces, data formats and priorities.
Implementation proceeds in two-week sprints with defined deliverables. After each sprint, you see working integrations on the staging environment that you can test and comment on. Before go-live, we conduct comprehensive integration and load tests: what happens with 10,000 simultaneous product updates? How does the queue behave during a 30-minute ERP outage? Only when all defined test cases pass do we go live. After go-live, we take over operations with agreed SLAs and ensure through proactive monitoring and quarterly reviews that everything remains stable and performant.
