SCIM

Abbreviation for System for Cross-domain Identity Management

In short and in plain language

SCIM is a set of rules for sharing data over the web.

It lets systems keep their user accounts in step. One example is a company list of staff and a web service.

With it, you can add, change or delete accounts.

Definition
SCIM is an HTTP-based protocol from the IETF that makes it easier to manage identities across several systems, for example between a company directory and a cloud service. To do this, it defines a common user schema, an extension model and a service protocol.
