EAN
Abbreviation for European Article Number
Definition
The EAN is an internationally unique item number that usually appears as a barcode on products. Its official name today is GTIN, but the old name is still common in retail. ERP systems, shops and marketplaces use it to identify items and packaging units unambiguously.
