Correlation ID

In short and in plain language

A correlation ID is a number for one task, such as an order.

The number goes along when the order moves from program to program.

Later you can find all entries for this order again.

Definition
A correlation ID is a unique identifier that a process receives at its first step and carries through all systems involved. It lets you bring together the log entries of one order across shop, middleware and ERP.
