Allowlist

In short and in plain language

An allowlist names everything that is allowed.

Anything that is not on the list is not allowed.

This way you can set which data goes into a log, for example.

Definition
An allowlist defines which entries are explicitly permitted, and everything else stays excluded. In interfaces it determines, for example, which fields are written to a log or which senders may connect.
